Hello and welcome to the Liverpool CU website.
Events Week
We ran a week of events earlier in the semester, some of which you may have attended. All the lunchtime talks are still available to listen to online at www.eventsweek.co.uk
Who are we?
We’re a bunch of students who meet to share and discover more about Jesus and his life changing/life giving message. The thrust of our time and work together is to equip and support each other to share with ALL students the news, love and restored relationship with God that only the crucified and risen Jesus Christ allows.
Our vision:
To share with every student the amazing news of forgiveness and life in Jesus Christ, to the growth and glory of the kingdom of God; persistently praying to love others as he loved us.
Who is welcome?
Absolutely anyone is welcome to come along. Whether atheist or agnostic, anarchist or altruist, people with a faith or none we would love to see you, but be prepared, we will talk about Jesus and maybe even pray.
What do we do?
On Mondays at 7.30pm we meet in small ‘hall groups’ within the halls of residence where we have a pretty chilled look into how different passages of the bible are relevant today. Beverages whether caffeinated or carbonated accompanied by diet destroying cakes are commonplace.
On Thursdays at 7pm we have our main meeting; this is an opportunity to learn more about different aspects of the gospel which is usually helped by a visiting speaker. For those just looking into the whole Christian thing this is a good opportunity to get an unthreatening ‘shop window’ view of what modern day church can look like. It’s also a time of encouragement through worship, prayer and a prime opportunity to meet other like minded people.
Where are we?
On Thursdays we’re usually in the Library at the Guild, located on the first floor.
So…
If you’re just looking into what Christianity is all about you have no idea how welcome you’d be. We’re the only university society that exists mainly for non-members.
If you’re a Christian of any persuasion or denomination you will be equally welcome, we try to make our times together accessible, united around the life giving message and work of Jesus Christ. Christians please don’t miss out on what is an awesome opportunity to be equipped to share the best news in the world.
Yours truly,
Eddie Bridle, CU President
